At Miyengi Education Foundation, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we handle your contributions. This policy outlines our practices regarding data collection, usage, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information when you donate or register as a sponsor. This may include your name, email address, and payment information. We do not store credit card details on our servers; payments are processed securely by our payment partners (e.g., Stripe).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To process donations and claim Gift Aid where applicable.
  • To update you on the students you sponsor or projects you support.
  • To send administrative communications (e.g., donation receipts).
  • To improve our services and outreach efforts.

3. Data Protection

We implement strict security measures to protect your data. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. As a Micro Trust of Givingworks (Charity No 1078770), we adhere to strict UK charity commission guidelines and GDPR regulations.

Sponsorship Agreement

By electing to efficiently sponsor a student via the Monthly Subscription option, you enter into the following agreement with the Miyengi Education Foundation:

1. Commitment: You agree to a monthly donation of £30 for a minimum period of three academic years (36 months). This commitment ensures the student's education is secured throughout their time in secondary school.

2. Cancellation: While we rely on your commitment to plan for the student's year, you may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us or managing your subscription in your donor dashboard. We kindly request 30 days' notice where possible to allow us to find alternative funding.

3. Allocation: 100% of your sponsorship goes towards the direct costs of the student's education and welfare. The Foundation absorbs administrative costs through separate core funding.

4. Safeguarding: Direct contact with students is carefully managed to ensure their safety. All communications must go through the Foundation office.
